Dessie
Arlene Rice went to be with our Lord Saturday, April
20th. She passed away at home.
She was born in
Murfreesboro, Tennessee on June 12, 1953. She was
preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Lucy Sloan
of Lascassas, TN., her twin sister, Darlene Cooper also
of Lascassas, TN. She is survived by her husband, Alan
Rice of Roseboro, N.C., two children, Keith Klink, Jr.,
of Maysville, N.C., Kevin Klink of Jacksonville, N.C.,
two stepchildren, Audra O’Conner of Jacksonville, N.C.
and Brandon Rice of Jacksonville, N.C., ten
grandchildren, a brother, Lynn Sloan of Murfreesboro,
TN., and a sister, Velma McKinney of Murfreesboro, TN.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, April 23, 2013,
at 2:00PM, at Peacock Newnam and White Funeral Service
Chapel, Southport, N.C. with Reverend Bill Wrenn
officiating.
Graveside services will follow at 4:30PM at Bethlehem
Methodist Church Cemetery, Hwy 53 White Oak, N.C.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the
service at the Chapel located at 1411 North Howe Street,
Southport, N.C.
