Dennis Walter
Bodman, 62, passed away suddenly Tuesday, January 29,
2013 at his home in Southport, North Carolina.
A Philadelphia native, Dennis was born April 24, 1950 to
the late Dolores and Arthur, the youngest of 3 children;
brother William (Kathy) and Arthur (Brenda). He
graduated from Bishop McDevitt High School in 1968, and
received a Bachelors of Science from St. Joseph’s
University in 1972.
Dennis served in the U.S. Air Force on both active and
reserve duty. A veteran of Gulf War I, he was deployed
numerous times throughout the U.S. and Europe. Upon his
final assignment as Major, Logistics Squadron Commander,
he retired after 22 years of service.
Since 1980, Dennis has had a long career in the
financial services industry and served in numerous roles
as an Account Executive supporting major financial
institutions. Dennis was an avid golfer, a pilot, and an
expert craftsman. He loved spending time with his
family, friends, and dogs.
Dennis is survived by his spouse, Donna; daughter, Jaime
Johnson (David E.); son Ryan (Mary Clayton);
brother-in-law Glenn Carson (Deborah) and Mark Carson
(Patricia Ann); aunt and uncle David and Roberta Vance;
several nephews and his niece; and the grandchildren who
he adored Thomas and Charlotte.
A memorial service will be at 11:00 am, Friday, February
1, 2013 at St. James Chapel with Reverend Robert Lee
officiating.
