William Charles
“Bill” Lewis, age 79, of Southport died Tuesday, June
12, 2012.
Mr. Lewis was born May 27, 1933 in Binghamton, New York,
son of the late Walter and Dorothy Benjamin Lewis. He
was a Navy veteran having served in Korea. Mr. Lewis
retired from IBM after 35 years to enjoy hunting,
fishing, and playing golf.
Survivors include his wife Roberta “Bobbie” Lewis of
Southport; son, Mark Lewis of Harford, Pennsylvania;
step-son Shawn Dayton of Little River, South Carolina;
step-daughter, Shannon Rippy of Wilmington; two brothers
Nelson Lewis of McAllen, Texas and Howard Lewis of
Emerald Isle, North Carolina; 3 grandchildren; 1
step-grandson; and 2 great grandchildren.
A celebration of life service will be held at a later
date.
