Lidoski, Sr. - St. James
Joseph
Francis Lidoski, Sr. 72, of St. James, died at home,
surrounded by his family on Monday, August 27, 2012
after a five (5) year courageous battle with cancer. Mr.
Lidoski was born in Queens, NY on December 8, 1939. He
was the son of the late Joseph S. and Mary Marchiselli
Lidoski.
He is survived by
his loving wife, Barbara Collins Lidoski, the love of
his life and his best friend. He is also survived by his
loving children, sons, Joseph F. Lidoski, Jr, and his
wife Susan, of N. Reading MA, Christopher J. Lido and
his wife Katy, of Oldwick, NJ and daughter, Catherine
Lido Krykant and husband Peter, of Brighton, England,
and his daughter-in-law Ann Lidoski of Longwood, Florida
He is predeceased by his son Robert Anthony Lidoski, Sr.
He is survived by four grandchildren, Robert, Abigail,
and Benjamin Lidoski and Ciaran Krykant, a sister Gloria
and her husband Stephen DelGaudio, brother, Peter, and
brother-in-law and sister-in-law Paul and Dorothy
Robinson. Joe was dearly loved and respected by his
family and friends. He will be remembered for his
intelligence, wonderful sense of humor, his caring ways
and always wanting to help others.
Joe graduated from Adelphi University in NY with a BS in
Chemical Engineering and earned a masters degree in
Engineering Management from Long Island University, NY
and an MBA from Fairleigh Dickinson University, NJ. He
had an interesting career, beginning with aerospace,
where he developed multiple patents and retiring from
AT&T. His grandson, Bobby, nicknamed him “a bonafide
genius”.
Joe and his wife, Barbara, moved to St. James in 1999.
He was a charter member of the St. James Fire Department
since 1999 and an EMT for the past 5 years. He was
elected to the St. James Fire Board. He was a loyal and
dedicated member to the St. James Fire Department.
A memorial Mass will be held on Friday, August 31 at
12:00 noon at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in
Southport with Rev. Douglas Lawson officiating. The
family will receive friends on Thursday, August 30 from
5:30 to 7:30 pm at the Peacock, Newnam and White Funeral
Services, in Southport.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to
the New Hope Clinic, 201 Boiling Spring Road, Southport,
NC 28461 and Lower Cape Fear Hospice, 1414, Physicians
