Jack Snoddy -
Southport
Jack Leslie Snoddy,
57 of Southport, North Carolina passed away Monday,
August 27, 2012 at his home. Mr. Snoddy was born
September 24, 1954 in Ohio, the son of William and Joann
Fenstermaker Snoddy.
Mr. Snoddy spent nearly 20 years with the Westfield Ohio
Fire and Rescue and held the position of chief. He
worked for Carter and Mack Lumber Company as a
salesperson. Jack met and made a commitment to the love
of his life Mary in 2007, and the two of them relocated
to North Carolina. Jack spent his recent years working
as a Paramedic for the Brunswick County EMS, fishing
from the Oak Island pier, golfing, woodworking, and
walking on the beach. He was a loving father and
softball coach to his daughters. He had learned to
treasure life in the moment.
In addition to his parents, Jack is survived by his wife
Mary Snoddy of the home, two daughters Jillian Fuller
and husband Tom of Boiling Spring Lakes, and Megan Rupp
and husband Mike of Creston, Ohio; three grandchildren,
Vincent Fuller, Mya Rupp, and Morganne Rupp; two sisters
Sue Moyers and husband Bill of Amherst, Ohio and Beth
Gault and husband Greg of Ashland, Ohio; and six
step-sons.
A memorial service will be held at 2:30 pm on Thursday,
August 30, 2012 in the Peacock – Newnam & White Funeral
Service Chapel in Southport. An additional memorial
service will be held at 10:00 am on Saturday, September
1, 2012 at the Seville – Guilford Fire Department in
Ohio with a reception to follow in the Westfield
Township Hall.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be sent to the Boiling
Spring Lakes Fire Department, 3059 George II Highway,
Southport, NC 28461.
