Cecil C. Pittman -
Oak Island
Mr.
Cecil C. Pittman age 92 of Oak Island died Monday July
23, 2012 at Lower Cape Fear Hospice and Life Care
Center, Bolivia.
Mr. Pittman was
born in Johnston County, NC on June 16th 1920 and was
the son of the late Jasper and Eppie Davis Pittman. He
was a US Army Veteran serving during World War II. He
dedicated much of his life to Law Enforcement. He served
as Police Chief of Caswell Beach and a officer with the
Long Beach Police Department and the Brunswick County
Sheriff’s Department. Prior to his retirement he was
Chief of Security for the N.C. Baptist Assembly of
Caswell Beach. He was preceded in death by his first
wife, Sylvia Young Pittman.
He is survived by his wife, Hazel D. Pittman; two sons,
Cecil Y. Pittman and wife Catherine of Boone, NC, Perry
P. Pittman and wife Julie of Oak Island; two daughters,
Sylvia R. Kellerhouse of San Diego, CA., Serrell Redd
and husband Bill of Raleigh, NC; seven grandchildren and
seven great grandchildren.
Graveside funeral services will be held Wednesday July
25, 2012 at 2pm at Brier Creek Memorial Gardens, 7600
ACC Blvd., Raleigh, NC.
