Mrs. Barbara
Marshall Rainier, a resident of Carillon Assisted Living
in Southport, North Carolina passed away peacefully on
February 3, 2012. Mrs. Rainier was born in Wichita,
Kansas on February 20, 1927. She graduated from Stephens
College in Columbia, Missouri. Mrs. Rainier met and
married Robert J. Rainier in 1946 while he was stationed
in Wichita with the US Army Air Force. They made their
home in Denville, New Jersey. Barbara worked for the
Morris County court system. She was preceded in death by
her husband Robert.
Mrs. Rainier is survived by two sons, James Rainier and
wife Sherry of Bridgeville, Delaware, and Gary Rainier
and wife Diane of St. James, North Carolina; four
grandchildren, Staci Davis, Jay Rainier, Julie Decowski,
Heather Novotney; and seven great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Rainier will be laid to rest in the Hillcrest
Cemetery in Conway, South Carolina at a private service.
