Agnes Mary
O’Brien, 62 of Boiling Spring Lakes, died Wednesday,
January 04, 2012 at Dosher Memorial Hospital in
Southport. Ms. O’Brien was born May 10, 1949 in Bronx,
New York, the daughter of James J. O’Brien, Sr. and
Yolanda “Babe” Scumaci O’Brien. She was a retired
registered nurse and was a member of the VFW Post 10400
Ladies Auxiliary. She was preceded in death by her
father, and a brother John O’Brien.
Surviving are her
mother, Yolanda “Babe” O’Brien, of Boiling Spring Lakes;
a brother James J. O’Brien, Jr.; and wife Linda of
Cortlandt Manor, New York; a sister Barbara Glidden and
husband Herb of Boiling Spring Lakes; a nephew Marc
Glidden; two nieces, Nancy Pisciotti and husband Steven,
and Karen Enea and husband Michael; two great-nephews,
Jake Enea and Alex Enea; two great-nieces, Jenna
Pisciotti and Emma Pisciotti; and many beloved cousins
and friends.
The family will receive friends from 6 pm to 8 pm on
Friday, January 6, 2012 at Peacock – Newnam & White
Funeral and Cremation Service in Southport. The funeral
mass will be held in Middletown, New York at St.
Joseph’s Catholic Church and burial will follow in the
St. Joseph’s Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials
be made to the VFW Post 10440, 3161 George II Highway,
Southport, NC 28461.
