Frances
Orene Phelps Cook, age 76, died Sunday, October 2, 2011
at her residence.
Mrs. Cook was born
in Brunswick County on August 2, 1935, daughter of the
late Rhobie Phelps and Ruby Elnita Leitch Phelps. She
was wife of the late Jack Charles Cook.
Survivors include three daughters, Barbara Cook Dillon
and boyfriend Jack Edwards of Wilmington, Brenda Faulk-
Powell and husband Phillip of Supply, and Bridgett Cook
and Fiance’ Craig Lewis of Supply; one brother C.H.
“Buck” Phelps of Supply; one sister O’Linda Gant of
Winnabow; eight grandchildren, Brian, Amanda, Jack,
Christopher “C.J.”, Ashleigh, Brooke, Carli, and Dalton;
and two great grandchildren, Scarlet and Logan.
Funeral services will be at 3:00 pm Wednesday, October
5, 2011 at Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church with Reverend Foyd
Bennett and Reverend Lonnie Varnam officiating. Burial
will follow in Georgetown-Holden Cemetery.
The pallbearers will be her nephews.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 pm
Tuesday, October 4, 2011 at the church.
