Oak Island
Lighthouse
Description:
The Oak Island Lighthouse, the last lighthouse built in North
Carolina, is located on the grounds of the Oak Island Coast Guard
Station and is run by the U.S. Coast Guard. The lighthouse is 169
feet tall and is the brightest lighthouse in the United States.
Although visitors are not allowed inside the lighthouse, the Coast
Guard welcomes visitors to take pictures and tour the station.
