Silver Coast Winery Wins 8 Medals At 3 Wine Competitions

December 5, 2012 - Southport, NC - Silver Coast Winery in Ocean Isle Beach, NC, opened its doors in May 2002, has won a total of eight additional medals from 3 wine competitions, Wines of the South Wine Competition, American Wine Society 2012 Commercial Wine Competition and Tasters Guild International Wine Competition which brings the medal count up to 375.

Taster Guild conducted an Annual International Wine Competitions, which was held April 2012 in Grand Rapids, MI. where nearly 2,000 newly released wines were evaluated. Silver Coast Winery had 4 award winning wines which were singled out by the judges-a most prestigious achievement. Silver medals were awarded to the Cabernet Sauvignon and 2010 Seyval Blanc while the 2009 Cabernet Franc and 2008 Touriga each received a Bronze medal.

Wines of the South Wine Competition, held October 5-6, 2012 at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, Tennessee, is an annual regional wine competition designed to promote and celebrate the great tastes of Southern vintages. Wineries in 14 southern states participated in this competition. Silver Coast Winery received 2 Bronze medals for the 2011 Seyval Blanc and 2008 Cabernet Sauvignon.

American Wine Society 2012 Commercial Wine Competition which was held November 6-8, 2012 at the Red Lion Hotel on the River, Portland, OR. is one of the oldest and most respected competitions in the United States. There the winery garnered 2 medals, with Rubio receiving a Silver & 2011 Chardonnay receiving a Bronze.
