Safe Haven: A Chance To Promote Your Business....

Safe HavenDecember 3, 2012 - Southport, NC - The North Carolina Division of Tourism, Film and Sports Development is working with Relativity Media to assist in promoting Safe Haven and to draw attention of film fans and potential visitors to Southport and the North Carolina coast. It's a great opportunity for all of us to benefit from this exposure.

They will be developing film-based itineraries, promotions, stories on VisitNC.com, sweepstakes and anything else they can put together. These will be promoted on VisitNC.com, through our international offices in Canada, the UK and German-speaking Europe and possibly in our upcoming advertising campaign.

They need information on any news or information you have about local places that the cast experienced which would be potential visitor destinations (where they ate, where they stayed, where they played, etc.) and we'll include those in as many parts of the promotion as possible. They are working with Relativity to get that info directly from the cast as well. The state's stories will focus on Southport and highlight the entire region for potential visitors. Bald Head Island, Boiling Spring Lakes, Bolivia, Caswell Beach, Oak Island & Sunset Harbor businesses this includes you.

They were very successful in turning the North Carolina Hunger Games experience into more than $3 million in publicity and learned a lot from that experience. With the support from Nicholas Sparks and Relativity (and such a great location), I'm sure this will be tremendously successful as well.

We are excited to hear that Relativity is interested in doing screenings of the movie in the state. Let's all work together to make sure we have a coordinated effort to make these as successful as possible in showcasing the economic value and importance of film production for all of our constituents.

Please email Karen (karen@southport-oakisland.com) at Southport-Oak Island Area Chamber of Commerce or Cindy Brochure (cindy_brochure@southportnc.org), Director of the City of Southport Tourism & Economic Development any of your stories or any details about the cast in your establishment.
