Ribbon Cutting Ceremony
Ribbon Cutting Ceremony - SECU
Hospice House
July 7, 2012 - Southport, NC - Members of the
Southport-Oak Island Area Chamber of Commerce joined
representatives from the Lower Cape Fear Hospice &
LifeCareCenter to cut the ribbon opening the SECU
Hospice House in Brunswick County. The center is located
at 955 Mercy Lane (off Old Ocean Highway) in Bolivia.
SECU Hospice House is an inpatient hospice care center
for patients in Brunswick County. It includes seven
private patient and family suites, open courtyard
gardens, a comfortable living room, a solace room,
kitchen, dining, and laundry rooms–all designed to meet
the needs of hospice patients and their visiting
caregivers, loved ones, and families.
Hospice House offers medical and respite care in a
comfortable, homelike setting. Most hospice patients are
served in their home. Patients are admitted to a hospice
care center for around-the-clock pain and symptom
monitoring, for family members to gain caregiving skills
or receive rest from caregiving, and if home care is not
possible during the last days of life. Also, care
centers serve as training centers for clinical students
and offer educational programs on end-of-life topics.
Lower Cape Fear Hospice & LifeCareCenter appreciates all
the support from the people of Brunswick County. It is
only because of their generosity, their commitment, and
their hard work that this dream has become a reality.
