Chowder Cook-Off -

Southport, NC - The N.C. 4th of July Festival
Chowder Cook Off will be held Sunday, March 27th from
1pm-4pm at the Oak Island Moose Lodge. Chowder Tasting
tickets are $8.00 in advance and can be purchased at the
Southport-Oak Island Area Chamber of Commerce, 4841 Long
Beach Road,
Southport or Atlantic Realty Professionals on
Oak Island. Tickets can also be purchased on Sunday
at the Oak Island Moose Lodge for $10.00. People’s
Choice -1st, 2nd & 3rd Place awards will be given in a
Professional Division and Individual Division along with
an overall Best Decorated Space. Winners will be chosen
by votes tallied from those tasting the Chowder. Along
with the Chowder Cook-Off there will be a
wine tasting, entertainment by Party of Two and
50/50 raffle.
Individual
Division – Captain George’s Chowder by Captain George
Bischoff, Boat House Marine; Up The Stream Chowder by
Justin Munson; Pacula Builders Best Constructed Chowder
by Tucker Pacula; Yoda-licious Catfish Chowder served
with Sydney’s Doggone Good Fishbones by
State Port Pilot’s Yoda of Sydney’s Space; Corn
Chowder with Shrimp by Steve Leimer & Earl Rush and
Steeler Nation Crab & Corn Chowder by Sandy Wolfe.
Professional
Division – New England Clam Chowder by
Duffer’s Pub & Grille, Pelican Clam Chowder by
Pelican Seafood; and Annie’s Clam Soup by Turtle Island
Restaurant.
The Oak Island
Moose Lodge is located at 4239 Long Beach Road. This
event is a fund raiser for the N.C. 4th of July
Festival. For more information about this event please

Chowder in the competition is Thursday, March 24th.
