Small Business Award
Nominations Sought
April 14, 2010 –
Southport, North
Carolina (NC) - The Southport-Oak Island Area Chamber of
Commerce will celebrate the contributions that
small businesses make to our economy with a Small Business
Person of the Year & Small Business Customer Service of the Year
awards. Small businesses represent 98% of the businesses in
Brunswick County, create three of every four new jobs, and generate
a majority of American innovations.
The Chamber encourages
customers and fellow business owners to nominate an individual or
partners (a team) who you feel deserve to hold the title of Small
Business Person of the Year or a business for the Small Business
Customer Service of the Year. Nominations forms are available at The
Chamber at 4841 Long Beach Road or online at
www.southport-oakisland.com. The nomination deadline is Monday,
May 3rd.
Nominations for the two awards
will be presented to the Small Business & Technology Development
Center of the University of North Carolina Wilmington for selection.
The SBTDC at UNCW provides management counseling and education
services to small and mid-sized businesses in New Hanover,
Brunswick, Pender, Duplin, Onslow, Bladen and Columbus counties.
Overall, the SBTDC helps established firms; high-growth companies
and start-up businesses meet today’s challenges, manage change and
plan for the future. All SBTDC services are confidential.
The winner of the awards will
be announced at the Chamber’s Annual Membership Meeting in June.

Family Chiropractic Plus; John A. Azzato, M.D., Orthopaedic

Dance, Carl Ward, III, Ward Mini Storage and Truck Rental and Bryan
English, E. Bryan English Builders.

and Lower Cape Fear Hospice & LifeCare Center.
