Advent
at Camp United Methodist Church

(NC) - Advent at Camp United Methodist Church, 4807 Main Street,
Shallotte, offers a season of reflection, worship, study and
anticipation as we prepare our hearts anew for the coming of the
Christ Child.
Rev. Richard C. Vaughan will
lead the Advent study, “While We Wait: Living The Questions of
Advent,” written by Mary Lou Redding, managing editor of The Upper
Room. The evening group will meet at 7 p.m. each Tuesday for four
weeks starting November 24. while the morning group will meet at 10
a.m. each Wednesday starting Nov. 25. More information is available

Each Sunday in Advent will
offer a new way to relate to the season, as well as offering a
special Advent Candlelighting devotion at each 8:30 a.m. and 11 a.m.
Sunday service.
The sanctuary will be
decorated for the first Sunday in Advent, Nov. 29, and the Camp
Bells handbell choir will play. On Dec. 6, the second Sunday in
Advent, Holy Communion will be celebrated at the 8:30 a.m. and 11
a.m. services. The children’s Christmas program, “One Starry Night,”
will be presented at 5 p.m., followed by a Christmas sing-along and
reception.
The church choir will present
the cantata, “A Baby Changes Everything,” during both morning
worship services on Dec. 13, the third Sunday in Advent. Camp UMC’s
Moravian Love Feast will be held on the fourth Sunday of the season,
Dec. 20, at 4 p.m., a change in date and time for this annual
service of candlelight, carols and Christian fellowship in the
Moravian tradition.
The church’s celebration of
the Christmas season begins with its Christmas Eve Candlelight
Communion Service on Dec. 24 at 7 p.m. For this service only, no
nursery is provided so that all may worship together.
