Press
Release
July 8, 2009 – Ocean Isle
Beach, North Carolina
(NC) - Registration is now open for the 2010 Ocean Isle Beach Bridge
Run for Food 5K/Half-Marathon, which will be run on Saturday,
January 9, at Ocean Isle Beach.
In its sixth year, the race is
a major fund- and friend-raising event for the South Brunswick
Interchurch Council’s Food Pantry. The course will take runners over
the scenic high-rise Odell Williamson Bridge to the mainland and
back to the island. Views of the Intracoastal Waterway on one side
of the island and the Atlantic Ocean on the other makes the journey
even more pleasant and exciting.
A
registration form in .pdf format is attached, and requires use
of the free ADOBE reader to open. Runners and walkers of all ages
are also invited to register on-line at
www.active.com for this event.
Free long-sleeved T-shirts featuring the new Corn Man logo will be
set aside for the first 400 registrants only.
The South Brunswick
Interchurch Council is a nondenominational Christian organization
that offers help and hope to neighbors in need. Member congregations
work together to assist in the areas of food, clothing, shelter,
utilities, life skills, and spiritual guidance.
Last year’s event netted more
than $7,500 for the Food Pantry and drew more than 200 runners to
the beach. For more information about either the 2010 Run For Food
or the SBIC Food Pantry, please contact Coordinator Mary Pritchard
at 579-4684.
