St. James Service Club's 10th Annual Flea Market

Press Release

April 2, 2008 – St. James, North Carolina (NC) - For the 10th straight year, the St. James Service Club is proud to present its annual Flea Market to be held Saturday, April 5 at Brunswick Community College in Supply, NC.  The doors will open at 8:00 am and are scheduled to close at 1:00 pm.

The St. James Service Club is a non-profit organization dedicated to identifying and supporting the needs of our community through volunteer participation and fund-raising.  All proceeds from the Flea Market will be used to meet the mission of the St. James Service Club.  All unsold items will be donated to also benefit Brunswick County charitable agencies.

This one day event will offer high-quality previously owned merchandise, all donated by residents of St. James.  Donations began in November, 2007 immediately following the highly successful Gently-Used Furniture Sale, also sponsored by the St. James Service Club.  Monthly pickups of furniture donated by residents have been augmented by weekly donations of household items at our collection point at Sentry Self Storage on Highway 211 in Southport.  Donations will continue to be collected until March 31.

A very popular event attended by hundreds of area residents, the Flea Market will be stocked with beautiful decorative items, collectibles, kitchen and bath items, linens, tools and hardware, electronics, seasonal decor, sporting goods, lamps, books, artwork and high quality furniture.  All items have been carefully scrutinized for quality and value and all electrical items have been tested.  Buildings A and D at Brunswick Community College will be full to the brim with attractive and affordable merchandise.

All customers will be greeted by our volunteer traffic patrol and directed where to park.  Fliers will be passed out to customers directing them to the appropriate location where they can find exactly what they are looking for.  Volunteers will be available to answer all questions.  Coffee, water, soft drinks, snacks, hotdogs, and home-made baked goods will be available for purchase.

The terms of sale for the Flea Market are cash only, no credit cards and no checks.  Buyers must provide their own transportation of purchased merchandise and no merchandise can be held beyond 2:00 pm Saturday, April 5.

For additional information please contact Mary Page, Chairperson of the 2008 Flea Market, at 253-8972.
