New Programs/Events
Teen, Pre-teen, and Youth
Activities
The Oak Island Parks and Recreation Department will offer the
following activities:
August 9th- Crafts 9am-1pm $5
ages 5-18
August 10th- Crafts 10-12 $2 ages 5-18
August 22nd- Swimming/Games at BSL, 9am-2pm ages 10-18
August 24th- Fun Day 10am-2pm ages 10-18
August 28th- Roller Skating-Scooters 1-6pm $5 ages 10-18

Youth Activities (ages 3
and 4)
August 9th- Creative Me!! 9:30-12:30 Recreation Center $2

Skate Park
The Oak Island Skate Park will offer free lessons on Wednesday and
Thursday mornings from 10-12pm. All new skaters will be instructed
by one of the staff members. Call 278-4747 for more information.
Tunes at Twilight
The Oak Island Parks and Recreation Department, in cooperation with
the Brunswick County Parks and Recreation Department will present
the following entertainer:
August 11th- The Keys
(Variety, Beach)
The concert will be held at
Middleton Park from 6-8pm. Bring a lawn chair or blanket and enjoy
the sounds of summer.
Kayak Trips
Join Oak Island Parks and Recreation as we tour various points
throughout Oak Island by kayak. Perfect for the beginner paddler,
these trips offer a first-hand chance to see up close birds, fish,
and other aquatic wildlife. Trip fees are $10 for residents and $15
for non-residents.

Oak Island Community
Resource Center
Limited space is available for the Preschool and After school
programs at the Oak Island Community Resource Center. Please call
278-3622 for information regarding activities and fees.
Note: By Law, appropriate
car seats/booster seats are required for ages 8 and under or 80
pounds when participating in Recreation Department programs
involving transportation.
