Silver Coast Winery Receives A Bronze Medal
for 2002 Premium Oak Chardonnay

Press Release

May 20, 2005 – Ocean Isle Beach, North Carolina (NC) - Silver Coast Winery continues to garnish accolades, most recently winning aSilver Coast Winery - 2002 Premium Oak Chardonnay bronze medal in the 2005 Pacific Rim International Wine Competition held in San Bernardino, California. Silver Coast’s 2002 Premium Oak Chardonnay continues to be a big success with wine connoisseurs, winning a bronze medal in the 2004 L.A. County Fair, a silver medal in the 2004 International Eastern Wine Competition, and a Grand Star of Nations gold medal award in the 2004 Lone Star International Wine Competition held in Texas. This wine has received seven additional awards in various wine competitions. Silver Coast Winery is proving that quality North Carolina wines can compete with the big boys from other noted wine regions in this country and abroad.

The 2002 Premium Oak Chardonnay is reminiscent of a more elegant style French chardonnay from Macon in Burgundy. In the glass this chardonnay sparkles with a pale straw color and offers some prominent granny smith apple notes followed by a subtle, slightly smoky pineapple quality. Silver Coast’s Premium Oak Chard suggests the softer, rounder oak texture many wine drinkers have, but also retains a crisp acidity which makes this wine scream for grilled lobster tail, pan-seared scallops, or a hearty summer seafood salad.

Silver Coast Winery, located just 15 minutes from the beach in a woodland setting near Ocean Isle Beach NC offers daily wine tastings and tours. The winery also has unique gift shops, eclectic art gallery, extensive picnic grounds and a beautiful barrel room for weddings and special events. For additional information contact the winery at (910) 287-2800 or check out the website at www.silvercoastwinery.com. To get to Silver Coast Winery take Highway 17 between Wilmington and Myrtle Beach (approx. 7 miles from SC/NC border and 40 miles from Wilmington). Take route 904 west and make your second right hand turn onto Russtown Road and your 4th right onto Barbeque Road. The Winery is located at the end of Barbeque Road.
