Ann Bancroft began working on
inspirational watercolors since she was first diagnosed with cancer.
She says, “This art is about how I choose to face my illness. I
paint instead of taking pain medication.” She also says, “Cancer
changed who I am and how I deal with things. My life is richer. In
so many ways, cancer came as a gift to me.”
Ann graduated with a degree in

coursework at the University of South Florida, and received a Getty
grant at New College in Sarasota. She has been an art educator for
many years and currently teaches at Montgomery College in Maryland.
