Anna Deloris
Davis, 59 of Chesapeake, Virginia passed away July 12,
2013 in Norfolk, Virginia.
Ms. Davis was born
March 30, 1954 in Southport, the daughter of the late
Elmer Smith and Mary Emma Galloway Smith. She was raised
in Southport, was a member of First Baptist Church, and
graduated from South Brunswick High School. Ms. Davis
had previously worked for 15 years in New Jersey and had
been in Virginia for the past 16 years. She was preceded
in death by a brother Dennis Smith and a sister Geneva
Hargrove.
Surviving is her
daughter Jackie Brown and husband Darnell of
Jacksonville, Florida; two grandchildren Danielle Brown
and Janai Brown; a brother Elmer Smith Jr. of Southport;
five sisters Debrah Smith, Betty Jones and husband Fred,
Gerthell Graham and husband Bubba all of Southport;
Vivan Smith of New Jersey; and Gwendolyn Smith of New
York; a host of nieces and nephews, including a special
nephew Grady Smith and wife Michelle of Virginia Beach.
The funeral
service will be held at 1:00 pm on Saturday, July 20,
2013 in the ILA Hall in Southport. Burial will follow in
the Northwood Cemetery. The family will have visitation
on Friday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at Peacock –
Newnam & White Funeral and Cremation Service.
