James Douglas "Doug" Hoffman - Boiling Spring Lakes

James Douglas "Doug" Hoffman, age 69, of Boiling Spring Lakes died Wednesday, October 24, 2012 at his residence.

Mr. Hoffman was born in Ridgway, Pennsylvania, son of the late Elizabeth Wolfe Hoffman and James A. Hoffman. He was the owner and operator of Hoffman Excavating Inc. since June 1970. He was a very passionate and honest man who truly cared about his customers. Mr. Hoffman enjoyed camping, boating, and fishing. He was a guest aboard a friend’s boat that was the winner of the 2002 US King Mackerel Tournament in Southport. He was also an avid hunter and marksman.

In addition to his father, Mr. Hoffman is survived by his wife of 48 years, Mary “Tina” Hoffman of Boiling Spring Lakes; two sons, Stephen Douglas Hoffman of Bolivia and Matthew Laine Hoffman of Southport; one daughter, Patricia Lee West and husband Billy Charles of Little River; two brothers, Charles Hoffman and wife Dianne and Wayne Hoffman and wife Bonnie both of Ridgway, Pennsylvania; two grandchildren, Zacharie Lee Hoffman and David Lee West; and two great grandchildren, Quentin Lee Hoffman and Maddox James Hoffman.

Funeral services will be 2:00 pm Friday, October 26, 2012 at Peacock-Newnam & White Funeral Service Chapel in Southport with Father Doug Lawson officiating.

The family will receive friends two hours prior to the service from 12:00 to 2:00pm at the funeral home.
