Sr. "Dave" - Southport
David
Gerald Doyle Sr., “Dave,” passed away on December 19th
in the home that he loved, on the 6th hole in Southport,
NC with his loving family by his side. He was 73 years
old.
Born and raised in
New Haven, CT, his death is preceded by his parents
Gerry and Molly, and sister Patricia. A graduate of
Colgate University, Lt. Cmdr in the U.S. Navy, he
proudly served during the Cuban Missile Crisis. Before

company man that mentored many individuals who rose to
influential positions in publishing, teaching, and
sales. A proud Irishman and Third Degree Knight in the
Knights of Columbus, he gracefully wore many hats;
devoted husband, inspirational father, loving
grandfather, and loyal friend. He will be remembered for
being a generous and kind hearted man who put family
first (golf became a close second!). His a capella
rendition of “Danny Boy” was second to none.
He is survived by his wife Susan and his 5 children,
Dave Jr. (Chaleca), Sheila (Chris), Maureen (Art), Amy
(Jonathan), and Dan( Melissa), and his 9 grandchildren;
Jessica, Kalani, Lauren, Nicole, Shane, Griffen, Devin,
