Ann Muncy Price - Southport

Ann Muncy Price went to be with the Lord on April 1, 2012. She was 84 years old and a very special, unique individual. She was born to Bige and Dicy Muncy on July 21, 1927 at the Miller Dispensary in Dry Hill, KY.

She was preceded in death by her husband Leroy Ellington Price, a brother William Muncy, a sister, Dorothy Evelyn Rickey and a grandson, Michael Demetrius Clemmons.

Ann is survived by her loving family; three brothers, Edgar Allen Muncy and wife Karen of Southport, Calvin Merle Muncy of Southport and Robert E. Lee Muncy and wife Laraine of Ashville, OH; two daughters, Scarlette Leann Parker of Southport and Andrea Price Clemmons and husband, Michael Lorenzo Clemmons of Southport ; three grandchildren, Christy Michelle Roberts of Boiling Spring Lakes, LeChristopher Steven Parker of Southport and Mia Chanel Simpson and husband, Terrance of Sanford, NC , seven great grandchildren, a host of nieces and nephews and special friends.

Ann was a member of Southport Baptist Church and served on the Deacon Board. She worked with the Baptist Woman’s Missionary Union, taught Sunday School and was active in working with various church organizations throughout her life. She was involved in the Jail Ministry, the Brunswick County Recovery Center and worked with the homeless ministry.

Ann’s desire from her youth was to be a missionary. She became a missionary in her local community. Ann had a great compassion for working with people with various needs. She was a true friend always encouraging and finding ways to make those around her feel God’s love.

The family will receive visitors Wednesday, April 4, 2012, from 5:00 to 7:00pm at Peacock-Newnam and White Funeral and Cremation Service, 1411 North Howe Street Southport, NC 28461.

A Celebration Service will be held at 1:00pm on Thursday, April 5, 2012 at Southport Baptist Church, 200 North Howe St. Southport, NC.
