Mary Lou B. Myrvik - Southport

Mary Lou B. Myrvik, age 87, of Caswell Beach died Sunday, September 4, 2011 at Dosher Nursing Center in Southport.

Mrs. Myrvik was born August 31, 1924 in Augusta County near Staunton, Virginia, daughter of the late Marion Brown and Frances Irvine. She was preceded in death by her husband Dr. Quentin N. Myrvik, and one sister Anne I. Brown.

Surviving are her step-son Alan L. Myrvik and wife Louise C. Myrvik of Collierville, Tennessee; step grandchildren Jonathon of West Palm Beach, Florida and Lauren Ann of Boulder, Colorado; sister Elizabeth Brown Crosby and her husband James C. Crosby of Staunton, Virginia.

Mrs. Myrvik was educated in Augusta County public schools and Mary Baldwin College in Staunton, Virginia. She was a faithful member of St. Peter Lutheran Church in Southport, North Carolina where she retired in 1998 after living with her husband in Charlottesville, Virginia and Clemmons, North Carolina where he was Professor Emeritus of Microbiology and Immunology of Wake Forest University School of Medicine.

A memorial service will be at 11:00 am Friday, September 9, 2011 at St. Peter Lutheran Church in Southport. Inurnment will follow at the church.
