Tropical Storm Cristobal - July 20, 2008

Tropical Storm Cristobal skirted past Southport, North Carolina on July 20th, 2008 without making a technical "landfall." Maximum sustained winds were approximately 45mph with some higher gusts. Cristobal quickly left the area leaving behind very minimal damage. Damage was mainly limited to downed limbs and branches. Minor flooding was reported in flood prone areas. Power outages and beach erosion were also very minimal as a result of this storm, although some erosion was recorded on Oak Island and Bald Head Island.
