Wine Society Announces Tasting Theme for March Meeting

11, 2012 - Ocean Isle Beach, NC - Today the Ocean Isle
Beach Chapter of the
American Wine Society announced the theme for its
next scheduled meeting.
The Ocean Isle Beach Chapter will hold its first wine
dinner event for area wine lovers and their guests on
March 25th. The wine dinner will be held at Chianti
South Italian Restaurant located at 2109 Highway 17
North, Little River, SC. The wine dinner will include
four premium wines paired with assorted hors d'oeuvres,
a seafood entree, a veal entree and a dessert.
February's meeting which featured wines from Brushy Mtn.
a Yadkin Valley winery was well received by all members
and guests in attendance, said Barwikowski, Chapter
chair. "The meeting focused on wines from this unique
Yadkin Valley winery. Brushy Mtn, located in Elkin, NC
is a boutique winery that is steeped in local history.
The winery also has garnered national attention from the
Jay Leno Show and the Washington Post. The Chapter is
also planning wine tasting events that will feature
wines from Portugal and the PGA Tour in future meetings.
The Chapter will also again this year participate in the
American Wine Society's National Tasting Project on
pinot noir. Everyone is welcome to attend chapter
meetings."
The wine dinner will start at 5:30 PM. The cost of the
wine dinner is $90 per person and includes all taxes and
gratuities. A $25 deposit will be required for this
event. Prior to the wine dinner, the chapter will hold a
brief meeting.
