Friends of the Library Annual Meeting September 28, 2010

The Friends of the Library Southport/Oak Island will hold their annual meeting on September 28, 2010 at 7:30 p.m. at the Southport Community Center on Moore Street.

Immediately following the brief business meeting our guest speaker Tar Heel native, author and UPI journalist Perry Deane Young will discuss his updated book Two of the Missing. First published in 1975, to high acclaim, the book recounts the disappearance of fellow Viet Nam photo-journalists Sean Flynn and Dana Stone, last seen riding red motorcycles into Cambodia. This past May Young and fellow Viet Nam journalists met in Cambodia to continue their search for their lost comrades. Perry will inform us of their latest findings. His talk will be illustrated with slides.

A book signing and reception will follow the talk.

Free and open to the public.
