"Sea
Nettle"

Photographer's Notes:
I took a
day trip recently with my family to the
Aquarium at Fort Fisher. This is such an
amazing place to visit, whether you live in
the area or are just visiting. Since
Jellyfish are among my favorite animals I
decided to share a photo of one of the three
different types they have there, the Sea
Nettle.
Jellyfish
do not have specialized digestive,
osmoregulatory, central nervous,
respiratory, or circulatory systems. Jellies
do not have a brain or eyes, although some
have ocelli, which is a light sensitive
organ that helps the Jellyfish determine up
from down. They have very limited movement
but can use their hydrostatic skeleton to
accomplish pulsation-like movement, which is
the typical movement most see. Jellyfish are
made up of about 90% water. I believe this
is why I find them so intriguing.
