This photograph was taken at a grave site just behind the old church at Old Brunswick Town/Fort Anderson. I just love to visit Old Brunswick Town and Fort Anderson. The amount of history behind this beautiful site is so fascinating. Old Brunswick Town and Fort Anderson is such a peaceful spot to visit, with the endless hills sitting right on the water and each with its own story to tell. Even the trees there hold a history. Visiting this historic site makes me think of the roads and sidewalks and earth that I walk on everyday. There may not be a placard telling me the story but I just know the ground I walk on every day may have once been a special place to someone in history! The home or building you are sitting in may be new but what about the ground it was built on? I don't think about it often enough but after visiting places like Old Brunswick Town and Fort Anderson it sticks with me for a while and I try to imagine what once was!
