Cash Mob Convenes January 19th
Southport-Oak Island, NC — On Thursday, January 19th at 4pm at the corner of N. Howe and Nash Streets, the Southport-Oak Island Area Chamber of Commerce will kick-off its newest promotion to promote product awareness, community cohesiveness and economic benefit to the business community by holding its first “Cash Mob”.
TEXT SHOPBRUNSWICK to Join the Mob
A Cash Mob is akin to a flash mob but instead of singing/dancing it shops. Each month between January -May and September – December the Chamber of Commerce will announce a general meeting location, date and time but the Mob will not know where they are going until they arrive. The Mob is open to the public with the only requirement for participation is agreeing to spend a minimum of $20.00 in the shop.
After the Mob concludes shopping its participants are invited to follow the leader to socialize at a nearby restaurant, lounge or ice cream parlor. The Cash Mob is a fun way to meet new people and support our locally independently owned and/or operated retail shops.
