Dr. Brian S.

Dr. Wills is the Director
at the Center for the Study of the Civil War Era, and Professor of
History at Kennesaw State University in Kennesaw, Ga. Dr. Wills has
received numerous honors and awards for outstanding achievement; is
a Historian/Consultant; reviewer of various Civil War manuscripts,
chapters and textbooks; and, guest lectures at Civil War Round
Tables and seminars around the country. He is a prolific writer and
author on a number of Civil War topics, and is best known for his
award-winning biography entitled: "A Battle From the Start: The life
of Nathan Bedford Forrest."

Johnson - Guest Speaker April 2011
Dr. Johnson received his
M.D. at the West Virginia University School of Medicine; B.A.
History at UNCW; M.A. European History at UNCW; and, Master of
Public Health and Tropical Medicine at Tulane University. Dr Johnson
is and has been a member of several scholarly societies, and over
the years has received numerous honors and awards. His professional
positions and affiliations include Duke University Medical Center,
Montefiore Hospital in Pittsburgh, University of Mali Medical Center
in Bamako, Mali, the Delaney Radiologists Group, New Hanover
Regional Medical Center, and he is currently on the faculty of the
History Department at UNCW.

Dr. Richard
Starnes - Guest Speaker March 2011
Dr. Starnes is a dedicated
researcher, department head and associate professor of history at
Western Carolina University. He has authored three books, has
researched and written numerous articles and reviews about the Civil
War era, and was named Hunter Scholar, 2003 – 2004. He is currently
a Lieutenant Colonel in the U.S. Army Reserve and, following a tour
of duty in Iraq, he now commands a reserve battalion in Atlanta, GA.
