Silver Coast Winery's 6th Annual “Okoberfest” Press Release
September 26, 2007 – Ocean Isle Beach, North Carolina (NC) - Silver Coast Winery will host its sixth annual Oktoberfest on October 13, 2007. This will be the winery’s fall harvest celebration. Oktoberfest was started in Germany by King Ludwig to celebrate his wedding day. He made it a holiday and asked all the villages to bring in their harvest and celebrate by eating, dancing, drinking and general frolicking. Much frolicking and eating will take place at the winery with the help of “Your Place or Ours” providing Brats, Knockwurst, …etc. and “Reva’s Kitchen” with some simpler fare and wonderful apple strudel and coffee. Appearing at the winery for the first time will be the 22 member “Little German Band and Dancers” complete with cowbells, flugelhorn and alphorn, everything you need to celebrate “Oktoberfest” properly. Dave “The Bopper” Overby will be your Master of Ceremonies for the Day. Silver Coast Winery award winning wine and German and domestic beer will be available as well as bottled water and soft drinks. Sunset Slush will also be present pairing their wonderful ices with Silver Coast Wines. There will be Polka and Yodeling Contests as well as a Beer Stein Competition. Bring your treasured stein and see if it is chosen as one of the most elaborate. Shop at the many arts and crafts booths and tour the winery with winemaker Dana Keeler.
