February 1, 2007 – Southport,
North Carolina (NC) - Below, please find upcoming events for The
Southport/Oak Island Chamber of Commerce for the month of February:
The annual Brunswick County
Job Fair will be held on Tuesday, March 20th from 10am-2pm on the
Brunswick Community College Campus in Supply. Businesses are invited
to exhibit at the Job Fair to recruit employees for job openings.
For information contact Eli Smith at 754-5627. Space is limited and
participation is free.
Exciting news....UNCTV has
scheduled the premiere of "Cruising Carolina: Cape Fear" for
Saturday, March 3rd. The Southport-Oak Island Area Chamber of
Commerce is a sponsor of this episode. UNCTV will also run an entire
block of Cruising Carolina from 4pm-7pm on that day, beginning with
"Cruising Carolina: The Northern Albemarle" at 4pm then immediately
following with "Cruising Carolina: Cape Fear". The 21st Annual EMMY
nominations includes "Cruising Carolina: The Northern Albemarle" and
is among the programs honored with a nomination by the Nashville/Midsouth
Chapter of the National Association of Television Arts and Sciences.
"Cruising Carolina: The Northern Albemarle", is the first in a
series of programs for UNC-TV produced by BlueWater Media, a
television and video production company with offices in Raleigh and
Southport, North Carolina.

coffee and Danish's provided by Port City Java with Eric's Grille
providing free hot dogs during the afternoon. 102.7 GNI will
broadcast live from the bank from 11am-1pm and there will be a
petting zoo and magic show for the children.

AD EXPO & SEMINAR
March 21st - 8am @ Southport
Community Building. If you do any advertising make sure you attend
this expo...it should save you money. Representatives from all forms
of media, specialty items, and full service ad agencies will offer
Chamber members discounts on their products and services.
SPONSORSHIP OPPORTUNITIES
February 2nd is the deadline
for returning the form soliciting sponsorships for the many Chamber
events such as the Oak Island Lighthouse 5k& 10K, Christmas by the
Sea Festival, U.S. Open King Mackerel Tournament, Annual Meeting &
Dinner, & Southport-Oak Island Golf Classic. There are also
sponsorship opportunities with the N.C. 4th of July Festival.
